Children in Papua are expected to learn English and play musical instruments from an early age. English proficiency can open up many more opportunities in the future, while learning music not only stimulates the brain but also helps develop social skills and self-confidence. Through this education, it is hoped that children in Papua will not only acquire general knowledge but also become fluent in English and skilled in music, allowing the quality of education in Papua to be on par with that in Java and Jakarta.

The primary school that has been established may not be able to solve the larger education issues in Papua, but it is believed that this school can provide hope for the children of Papua. The aim is for these children to receive comprehensive knowledge and skills that will open doors to broader opportunities in the future.

Currently, this school is collaborating with Panti Asuhan Katolik Santa Susana Timika, which houses nearly 90 orphans who have lost their parents due to broken homes or death. At this school, the children are not only educated academically but also guided to become individuals who uphold good morals, discipline, and integrity.

Looking ahead, the goal is for this school to develop into an international standard primary school in Timika. Teaching in English in the classroom is seen as a foundational step toward achieving this dream. Additionally, preparations are underway for a dormitory for children outside the orphanage. It is believed that providing a good environment can support their growth into better individuals.

The education provided by Catholic missionaries has transformed the lives of many. Without their help, many would not have been able to live better lives. Even individuals who could not read or write understood that education is the key to a better life. This experience has inspired many to share this awareness, even with limited resources.

The school that has been established is part of a dream for the future of Papua’s people, where they can be independent and manage their own natural resources. Caring for the education of Papua is a responsibility as citizens born in Papua. Good education is the key to changing lives and alleviating suffering.

It is hoped that one day this school will be a part of a major change for Papua and offer a brighter future for the children of Papua.
